Marinas Live Map Overlay

With more than 15,000 Ports and Marinas, the Live Map was inevitably becoming cluttered.

So, we added a new option under Layers in the Live Map Toolbar, where you can choose to view Ports, Marinas or both.

Let us know if it helps!

@Lesley, is this the one? http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ports/438/United_Kingdom_port:STRANRAER

Is it actually a Marina or a Port?

There are a number of marinas here in South East Asia, Langkawi has 3, Penang has 1, Port Dickson has 1 and there are a number in Johor and Singapore. Phuket has 4 and there are a few others along this coast. How do we get them on the map?

@Mark, we will be adding an "add a port" feature sometime in the near future. In the meantime, we need to add them manually. To do so, we need the following basic details: Country, Name(s), Port/Marina, Coordinates, UNLOCODE (for Ports)

    Thanks!

Hi Demitris. It is a marina but you have to move the anchor sign to other side of the basin from its position now. We have a marina and a fishing harbour further inside the basin. Hope this helps.

Here is a list of the ones from Singapore to Phuket, I have visited all of these and they are all up and running at present. There are more in the Gulf of Thailand and Borneo, I will list these in a separate document. Cheers, and thanks for the great site.

Hi Demitris. I will add a link to all the harbours in the Dumfries and Galloway area. Please omit the part at Stranraer stating we have diesal. This is only if you have your own cans and walk to the petrol station. We do have a trolley that could be used. www.dumgal.gov.uk/harbours Many thanks Lesley

    Hi Demitris,

*We ask this more times before… *(via info@marinetraffic.com) without response...

The port of Dunkerque France's third-ranking port is divided into two parts and there are also two entries for the vessels..., Dunkerque Ouest (Dunkirk west) and Dunkerque Est (Dunkirk east)

    First part and first entry.

Port 156 (MarineTraffic) DUNKERQUE - > see pdf-file “Port of Dunkerque” page 2 / This port number 156 (MarineTraffic) DUNKERQUE is in reality the port DUNKERQUE “OUEST” (WEST) see PDF-file “Port of Dunkerque” page 3 and de second port of Dunkerque, first vessel in 1975.

Only ships who arrival in and leave this part by this entry are announced as “arrival” and “departure” from DUNKERQUE in MarineTraffic…/  This is **the Western Port of Dunkerque**

    Second part en second entry.

The second (in reality the first one) the oldest one, to the east, which is restricted to ships with draughts of 14,2 metres is named DUNKERQUE “EST” (EAST) see PDF-file “Port of Dunkerque” page 4. /  This is the Eastern Port of Dunkerque

     *********

We propose to make possible the sight of the arrivals and departures of vessels for the second part of the port and the second entry of the port of Dunkerque more precisely “DUNKERQUE EST” (Dunkerque east).

We propose also the coordinates for the port “DUNKERQUE EST” : 51.05555°N and 002.35105°E see PDF- Port of Dunkerque page 5.  /  UN/LOCODE: as be the same for the two ports (west and east) :  FRDKK

It would perhaps also be necessary to change the name of the port 156 (MarineTraffic) DUNKERQUE into “DUNKERQUE OUEST” (Dunkerque west)

    **********

    Dear,

The link where you find more information about the two ports of Dunkerque is :  http://www.dunkerque-port.fr/en/dunkirk-port/presentation.html

     **********

We hope that you shall be take into consideration our information (we see that you do it for marina’s) and we hope to receive soon alarms (from “My Notification”) for the port of  DUNKERQUE EST – Thanks

In attachment a PDF-file of the problem.

    Thanks Dimitris for Dunkirk..

I do no but..., it is maybe better to put the names of the ports in French country is FRANCE with "west" or "east" in parentheses

Dunkirk west   =  Dunkerque Ouest (west)

Dunkirk east  =  Dunkerque Est (east)

And by a other request we shall propose to move some photos from Dunkirk west to Dunkirk east....

    Thanks

    Dear Demitris,

One question more concerning the port of Dunkerque Est (France)...,  Is it possible to widen (stretch) the area to the ENE and WSW ?  Maybe a ½ mile into the two directions so that we can see the arrivals and departures of the right side of Dunkerque Est and to see the vessels into the left side of Dunkerque Est

In attachment a picture of Dunkerque Est  - in red the two parts of the port that are not covered for the moment by your  “port system”

    Thanks
