What is the MarineTraffic Research Network?

MarineTraffic actively supports academic research in the maritime sector. Exploitation and processing of AIS-data has proved to be a valuable tool for researchers worldwide that keep using and applying it to their research projects.

The Automatic identification System (AIS) itself, has evolved into a system with a multitude of applications. An essential tool for marine professionals, ship enthusiasts and a large community of researchers around the world.

The MarineTraffic Research Network extends the characteristic community-based approach of MarineTraffic in order to support and expand the AIS research development. Junior and senior researchers can be provided with every facilitation they may need so that AIS research can become a simple task able to promote relevant knowledge on a global scale.

If you are interested in participating in the MarineTraffic Research Network you can express your intention during your registration by providing us with the relevant information.
