How to explore: Voyage Timeline

- Available with the Vessel Events Service -

You can use our Data Exploration Tool to explore a complete timeline of vessel events, including AIS events such as destination and ETA changes, vessel events such as anchorage, port and berth calls, proximity events such as STS and bunkering events and more.

To search for the Voyage Timeline click on the Explore Data tab on the Main Menu and then select the Vessels option.

This will take you straight to the Vessels Database Section. You can use the Sidebar to quickly locate the Voyage Timeline option.

Unlike most options in the Data Exploration Tool, you are required to add a vessel's name, MMSI or IMO number to be able to get the information you need.

After you do so all results about the specific vessels will appear. Click on the Add Filter button and a drop-down menu will appear. Each filter added will appear in a box next to the Add Filter button. You can remove the filter any time by clicking on the X button next to it.

After selecting your filters, the results will appear below. By default, a number of the most popular results will appear. You can hold and drag any of the result columns to re-position and sort them how you want.

Moreover, you can click on the Cogwheel icon on the right to add or remove columns from your view and choose your prefered Time Zone.

Now, to the far right of every result, you will notice a button with 3 vertical lines. Clicking on that will give you a number of options: You can create a notification based on this event, check the vessel's detail page, check its position history or quickly see the vessel on the Live Map.

There are some important information and actions at the bottom of the page which:

  • inform you about the total number of records found that match your search criteria
  • enable you to navigate through search results pages by entering a page number or selecting the next or previous one
  • let you decide on the desired amount of search results per page (20/50)

Last but not least you can export the data you have searched for with a click of a button. As soon as you get your results from your specific search, you can export all of them by clicking on the Export button on the right-hand side, above the results. A drop-down menu will appear, giving you information about the process you are about to complete.

Alternatively, you can now select some of them, by clicking on the adjacent button of each result, on the left side. The selected will appear green and a new button will appear on the button that reads Export Data. Click on it to export the selected.
