Vessel Events

- Available with our Professional, Enterprise Plans and the Fleet Management Solution-

In MarineTraffic we record several different Vessel Events during a vessel’s voyage. These events can vary from Docking, Arrival, ETA changed, events relating speed and many more.

You can use our Explore tool to explore a complete timeline of vessel events, through our Voyage Timeline and Vessel Events pages.

To search for the Voyage Timeline and Vessel Events pages you can click on the Explore tab on the Main Menu and then select the Vessels option. This will take you straight to the Vessels Database Section. You can use the Sidebar to quickly locate the Voyage Timeline/ Vessel Events option.

The Voyage Timeline page includes AIS events such as destination and ETA changes, anchorage, port and berth calls, proximity events such as STS and bunkering events and more.
Unlike most options in the Explore tool, you are required to add a vessel's name, MMSI or IMO number to be able to get the information you need.

Note: You can be directed on this page through the Vessel Info Window as well, clicking on the three vertical lines on the left.

The Vessel Events page helps you explore an event timeline for one of 20 different events triggered by MarineTraffic based on AIS changes, as well as the location and behavior of the vessels. You can even drill down and filter based on the specific details of each type of event.
Unlike Voyage Timeline, where you can search for a vessel and its related events, here you can search for all the vessels related to a specific event. You can start by selecting an event from the list given when you click on the search bar.

More Filters
In both pages, if you are looking for more specific data, our vast selection of filters can help you with that. Just click on the Add Filter button and a drop-down menu will appear. The first options are the most popular ones. Each filter added will appear in a box next to the Add Filter button. You can remove the filter any time by clicking on the X button next to it.

After selecting your filters, the results will appear below. By default, a number of the most popular results will appear. You can hold and drag any of the result columns to re-position and sort them how you want.
Extra details
Moreover, you can click on the Columns tab on the right to add or remove columns from your view and choose your prefered Time Zone.

More actions
Now, to the far right of every result, you will notice a button with 3 vertical lines. Clicking on that will give you a number of options: You can create a notification based on this event, check the vessel's detail page, check its position history or quickly see the vessel on the Live Map.

Records limitation
Kindly note that up to 500 records can be provided per search.

Export Data
Last but not least you can export the data you have searched for with a click of a button. As soon as you get your results from your specific search, you can export all of them by clicking on the Export button on the right-hand side, above the results. A drop-down menu will appear, giving you information about the process you are about to complete.
Alternatively, you can now select some of them, by clicking on the adjacent button of each result, on the left side. The selected will appear green and a new button will appear on the button that reads Export Data. Click on it to export the selected.
