    Hello Neil,

    Thank you for contacting us.

    As far as I can see you have set Notifications for the Arrival / Departure of these vessels. You can see in the respective detailed pages that there are no recent Port Calls for the vessels:

    https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:725431

    Once they arrive/ departure from any Port, a Port Call event will generate the respective Notification that will be sent to you.

    Thank you for the quick response. These boats make local trips in Singapore waters so I see what you mean, that each time they move it will not trigger a Depart or Arrive notification from Singapore waters. But what confuses me is that it has done in the past. Perhaps that was due to the AIS being switched on or the signal being intermittent on the device. Is there a way to get a notification when a vessel begins moving? What does the "AIS destination changed" notification do? Thanks again.

    OK, I have now updated the settings online. I was trying to do it via the mobile App previously, which does not offer the Underway option. But there is still a problem. I changed the settings last night Singapore time and this morning (about 1 hour ago), Anka (SG) commenced a short journey. You can see it in the past tracking now, but I did not receive any notification when she went underway or when she stopped moving. Not sure why. Thanks.

    Hello Neil,

    With "Stopped" you get alerts when the speed of the vessel is less than 0.5 knots. With "Underway" you get alerts when the vessels were stopped and now they move with speed more than 3.5 knots.

    As you can see here:

    https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/index/positions/all/shipid:725431/mmsi:563026640/shipname:ANKA there are positions received with speed less than 0.5 knots and more than 3.5 knots.

    I would suggest you monitor it for a couple of days and let me know how it oges.

    Hi. Yes I know the vessel moved faster than 3.5 knots and back to slower than 0.5 knots today. That is my point. I did not receive any notifications, so they don't seem to be working. Can you check in your system what push notifications were sent out to my mobile phone? Thanks.

    Hi. Yes I have had the Android App installed on my mobile phone for a number of months. Yesterday I changed the notification settings via the website for Anka and Eagle Wings to send push notifications only, when either vessel gets underway (ie. >3.5 knots) or stops (<0.5 knots). Today both vessels have gone out on trips but I have received no notifications. I attach screenshots to prove that all my notification settings are as you require them to be, if my understanding is correct. So, my question is....why am I now receiving push notifications? Thank you.

    Hi. During the last few days both Anka and Eagle Wings have been underway on more than one occasion but I have not received a single notification. You said I would receive notifications but I have not. Can you please look into this properly as it is becoming really frustrating. Please check your system and you will see that I have the right settings to receive notifications when Anka or Eagle Wings get under way, and you will also see that despite this no notifications have been sent. I look forward to this being resolved. Thank you.

    I have looked into your account for August and so far no notifications have been sent for either of the vessels selected.

    Would you please be so kind as to let me know whether or not you should have received the notifications?

    Hi. Yes if you look at your records you can see that Eagle Wings was underway on both the 1st and 2nd August but I did not receive any notifications when she went above 3.5 knots or when she returned to a speed of less than 0.5 knots, which I should have done given that I have selected those types of notifications for that vessel. For future replies to you, can I contact you by email rather than having to log on to your website every time I need to reply? Thanks.

    Hi there, was the problem solved please?  It seems I am having the exact same issue.  Email notifications are working fine, but push notifications are not, and still the number of used push notification is increasing.

    Could you please be so kind as to let me know if you have received them?

    I can also see that you have currently paused all of your notifications, so you currently shouldn't receive any notifications.
    Could you please let me know the reason you have paused your notifications? Did you encounter any issue other than not receiving push notifications?

    Yes you are correct, 17 push notifications have been generated, but I received none of them.

    I had a Samsung Galaxy S4 and everything was fine.  When I switched to my new smartphone (One Plus 6) I couldn't receive any push notifications.  Maybe because the system still does not cater for the One Plus 6?

    I paused them so as not to waste them, but I tested them when they were active don't worry.  I even tested with email notifications, which works fine but still no push notifications.

    The push notifications is the only issue I have, everything else works fine.

    I do believe that your idea to halt the notifications was good.
    We will have to enable them so as to test this further, but in the meantime, would mind responding to the following questions?

    Could you please check if 'Enable on this device' is enabled for the app in your new phone?
    You can find thisMenu (three horizontal lines) > Settings > Notifications.
    Moreover, can you also check whether you have activated Push notifications for your device and for MarineTraffic specifically?

    Lastly, could you please provide me with the version of our app and operating system of your device?

    Yesterday I enabled the Push Notifications from the app again but still no response (email notifications still work fine).

    The following are the answers to your questions:

    • 'Enable on this device'  on the app is active
    • Push notifications from the device are also active, including sounds and the 'dot' feature
    • OxygenOS version 5.1.8, Android version 8.1.0, Marine Traffic app version 3.7.2, Phone model One Plus 6 Model A6003

    Yesterday evening I tried the notifications and I can confirm that they worked :D

    Today morning I tried searching for the forum but couldn't find it and had an errand so I had to stop.
