    I can´t find anything on how much it cost? Why I  need to pay? What happens to my fleet/ my photos if I don´t have Premium?

    I didn't even opt in.  I did not ask for Premium.  I got an email suddenly saying "You have been registered for the PREMIUM plan" and my "free trial" period ends December 2.   The email contained the above link.   Sadly, I cannot find a way to get OUT of Premium.

    Vessel positions reported via our terrestrial AIS network are displayed in all our plans (including guest access)  in the same way.

    If you downgrade to a plan that has a limit lower than your fleet size, the vessels will remain in your fleet (for future use) but will be marked 'inactive'.

    Lisa, you are currently in a complimentary trial of the Pro plan. When the trial expires (and if you do not want to continue to a normal subscription) you will automatically be downgraded to the Basic (free) plan.

    Hi Margot.

    Vessel particulars (which include ownership details for a large number of vessels) can be accessed while at the PRO plan or higher.

    So after a short period of time of having the free Premium service, unless we pay, we get the same basic service as any other user even if they are not providing Marine Traffic with AIS tracking information.

    That is not implied in the email notice I received.

    "Some of the premium services will be offered to our contributors (AIS station operators and Photographers) for free".

    Kenneth, contributors with quality stations get a free PRO plan. If you are already a contributor and your station is registered to your email address, your account will be automatically upgraded to PRO. If you need assistance, please submit a support ticket.

    Question: Which premium services do Photographers get  for free? Where's the difference to a normal basic accout?

    G'day Demitris, Congratulations MarineTraffic.com for the best ship reporting site on internet. I started using it back in 1999 for work related purposes here in Brisbane and since retiring from the marine industry I still check it out. The _upgrade  _version will take some time getting use to.... the dark blue highlighted colour is a bit of a shock! And there was some advert at the heading with a download button that I hit and it sent my 'trendy' security into attack mode. Needless to say I was a bit apprehensive about the new upgrade. I reckon the original version was tops!

    Hello Demitris,

    I too have been using MARINE Traffic for many years and get lots of people telling me they enjoy looking at all my photographs I have submitted in that time. I was looking forward to seeing your upgraded site and do  think it is very good. I understand these sight's cost lots of money putting together and did think about making a Contribution as it's one of the only Internet sites I look at many times through out each day. Just reading your email you've sent me I am very pleased you are going to upgrade me to the PRO Plan and will be very happy to keep adding to your Photograph pages. As Ship's and other surface vessel's keep coming to Guernsey I will keep on photographing them and add them to your excellent site. Well done Marine Traffic.

    Hello Demitris, I've only jut discovered this forum. Perhaps you can help.I have a contributing station (1834),  but have never been able to

    make minor corrections to it's details.When I log in to "my account" I can't see my station, and my subscription also shows as "basic". Can you advise me what I need to do to correct this situation.

    Hi James,

    Please log out and then log in the site again. It should be fixed now.

    On a side note your station's range is a little low. Please take a look at our Knowledge Base

    Demitris, thanks for your rapid reply. I certainly wasn't expecting a reply today of all days. I logged out and in again, but no change I'm afraid.

    I know I had trouble logging in some months ago, and am wondering if I "mucked that up" when I changed passwords. I suspect I might not be logging in

    to the original site where I registered my ais details. J B

    I purchased Marine Traffic 2.1.1 for my Ipad in 2012.  I tried to update it but it says the app is no longer there.   I see there is an app called Marine Traffic Ships and Wind, but it's asking me to pay for it.   Is this the same app I already purchased?

    Unfortunately yes. Due to some restrictions set by Apple, we are no longer able to support the old version and you will need to purchase the new one. The good news is that we'll be pushing a major redesign soon with new features etc, which you will get as an update.

    Dear Demetris,

    I have same issue here, I purchased the app from the apple store long time ago, and sorry to say but apologizing is not good enough, you should support your costumers by giving the new version for free for those that they paid for it!! Restrictions and others are between the developer(you) and the apple store not for the costumers.

    @Filippos, unfortunately this is not even possible from a technical standpoint. We only have very few promo codes which we can provide for free app downloads, for exceptional cases.

    I registered in June last year and have been using the app on my iphone since then. I never signed up for a premium service and i have more than 5 ships in my fleet list. Now suddenly i find i have 1 month left and then i will revert to basic which means i lose all but 5 of the ships i am tracking. Why hasn't this been an issue for me until now? If i was on a trial, shouldn't it have run out long ago?

    @Lex, the free trial upgrade was offered to most users around the end of last year and is being rolled out to everybody else gradually. It was probably triggered when you logged on the website to manage your fleet.

    Sadly, I see this site going down hill faster than a sinking Ferry.

    Change is good, but the new site is crap.  

    a.) Log in - go to vote, told to Log in

    b.) notifications of ships, last 1 day.  Yes, Boston Harbor is Busy

    c.) Get a trial Premium and Notifications last 2 days.  O Boy. ! an extra day

    d.) They want our pictures, yet give us what in return ?

    e.) Votes go unaccounted for.  People go back day, after day, after day and it's not credited.

    Bring back the old web site.  Now.

    I have difficulty beleving that a app i paid 10 or so euro,s for a subscription period of a year , now has to cost 9 euro,s a month billed annually a Total of 108 euro,s. This is absurd.
    For an app like F1 wich is completere interactive i pay 9.99 once a year for an enormous varied amount of data.
    Maybe a harsh statement but is there any explanation for this.

    As for the notifications if you have hopper dredgers in your fleet, wich happen to be dredging shipchannels in ports i recieved for one dredger an hourly email for departure and Arrival. In the ipad app i removed the vessel as last resort, but notifications kept coming, i then discovered i had to use the webinterface to disable the Notifications.

    Our mobile apps cost much less than 10 euros - are you referring to something else? The Premium subscription plan to which you are referring is a different thing, available during the past year.
