    Dear Kanika,

Thank you for your post and I am sorry for this delay in our response.

As Axel has been correctly commented, when you do not see updated positions and/or get the message "Get a newer position via Satellite" the vessel is far away from terrestrial stations and can only be tracked via satellite.

You can track vessel via satellite via our satellite services, SAT Global or SAT Flexible, as you can see here:
    https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/online-services/single-services/sat-flexible
    https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/online-services/single-services/sat-global

or via our Professional and Global plans, which you can combine with several other services.
    You can find them here:
    https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-12.0/centery:25.0/zoom:4

However, having looked in MOSCOW MAERSK, I can see that she is currently tracked via one of our terrestrial stations, with lats updated position received on 2020-01-02 14:39 UTC.

Last but not least, I would like to thanks Axel for his comment and contribution to our Community page.
    We really appreciate it!

I hope that, if there is anything else I can do for you, you won't hesitate to let me know.

    Kind regards,

if the ship is in range of a MarineTraffic Station and sending out AIS it will be tracked. You can also sign in for the professional service to receive SAT AIS of this ship https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/online-services/plans
