    Hello Isaac,

Thank you for sharing this with us.

If I understood correctly, you have detected the vessel type the vessel PILOTN0 4

    https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:3351426/mmsi:495270931/vessel:PILOTN0%204/

should be updated, meaning it is not a Pleasure Craft.

As far as I can see, the vessel type should High Speed Craft, indeed. As such, I have already escalated this case to our competent team for further review. I will let you know as soon as I have any updates.

In the meantime, I remain at your disposal.

Yes, its type should be updated.

However, we believe the vessel type should be Pilot Boat (Type ID: 48) as we refer to this document https://help.marinetraffic.com/hc/en-us/articles/223079107-Which-way-does-MarineTraffic-classify-vessels-by-type-

Any reason makes you think the vessel type should be High Speed Craft?

    Hello again Isaac,

After further analysis, our team detected the vessel is now shown as "Local Vessel". Such change has not been triggered by us, meaning her transponder was updated and our system automatically updated her record as well.

Could you let me know how this affects your API calls?

We're using EV02 vessel event API and interested in parsing proximity vessel events for our project. But we have observed this ship's activities are not included in the API response when it was marked as Pleasure Craft.

We're sure it's not a pleasure craft since our project is tied with Port Everglades, FL towing service, then I opened this ticket.

Hi Isaac, I understand your case better now. Thank you for letting me know.

As you know, the vessels types are derived from the AIS signals transmitted through the vessels transponders, thus we cannot manually change such data in our database.

My apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.

As I can see this specific vessel (PILOTN0 4) has a new type being transmitted now, I assume the issue no longer occurs with the vessel in your API call.

If it does, or for any other similar cases, please let me know so we may review this further.

    Best,
