    Hello Bobbie,

Thank you for contacting MarineTraffic Support.
I am Alexa Joy Tan, Customer Support Representative at MarineTraffic and I will be glad to help you with our services.

Please allow me to explain that the destination displayed on the vessel's details page is an information that we received from the vessel's AIS Transponder.

Further to that, it is described here: https://help.marinetraffic.com/hc/en-us/articles/205426887-What-kind-of-information-is-AIS-transmitted-
that Destination info is an info transmitted via AIS.

That said, please allow me to clarify that MarineTraffic is a global ship tracking intelligence that relies on AIS-transmitted data. In general, Destinations are AIS transmitted. Meaning that in order for the correct destination to be displayed in MarineTraffic, this information needs to firstly be updated in the vessel's AIS transponder, and, as soon as we receive the signals with such data, it's new destination will automatically be updated in our platform as well.

I hope the above helps clarify things further.
Should you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please let me know.
    We are here to help.

    Best regards,
