Embeded maps slows down website

I have the embed.js script on my site and noticed a dramatic reduce of the site performance, mainly because of the number of js-files downloaded, even if there are only a few ships in the area of the map. Tried the make use of defer of async, however that stopped the map from loading.

Any suggestions on how to improve the performance when embedding the marinetraffic map?
