    Dear all,

Thank you very much for your feedback regarding the service, it is most greatly appreciated.

I would like to address each and every of your comments and concerns and since you have posted many valuable details, I will be amassing everything in one response.

First and foremost, @Patrick, thank you for pointing out the issue with the display of wind barbs. I am deeply sorry to learn that you all are facing issues with the updated features of the past track. I would like to express my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
As I understand that all of you have experienced this, I can definitely see the need to be able to remove weather barbs and weather info in such cases such as the ones you subscribed.
I have already forwarded this as a suggestion to our team and we will make sure to let you know of any changes that may possibly be implemented.

@Marc, thank you for all your observations. Our past track had always been designed not to display other vessels when it was displayed on the map zoomed out, but previously tracks were displayed in this cases. This issue has now been fixed, and so other vessels are available from Zoom 12 and afterwards.

Moreover, I would like to express that we are constantly striving to enhance our user experience with new and updated features, while at the same we are continually working on optimising existing procedures and our quality of data.

Lastly, from the screenshot you displayed, I have managed to reproduce the issue and I believe that our weather contour is not working as intended, as it is my understanding that the areas are meant to be much less wide.
I believe that @all have mentioned this as well, so I would like to inform you that I have escalated this issue to our team in order for them to look into. I will keep you posted on any updates.

@Peter I distinctly remember having this conversation with you in the past and I am once more thankful for your feedback.
The new features of our Past Track should not be affecting your ability to view it for multiple vessels.
Can you please provide me with a few more details regarding what you are experiencing? Please feel free to do so in a ticket addressed to me if you are more comfortable with it.

@Simon, thank you for your observations and comments, they were pivotal in my identifying the aforementioned occurrences and issues. If you have any further feedback, please feel free to share it with me.

On a last note, I would like to clarify that the weather information for each vessel's tracks had always been available on our website, but was previously only available in the vessel record pages.
As we wanted to add all respective information together in order to make it easier for our users to view all respective details at once, we added the speed gradient, weather contour, and wind barbs on our Past Track.
    You can learn more here:
    https://help.marinetraffic.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023270571-Display-Vessel-Past-Track-on-the-Live-Map

This version of Past Track is the initial one and there is always room for improvement, so your feedback is valuable to us.
We are always open to suggestions, so if there is anything else you wish to add, please let me know and I will be more than glad to forward it, too.

I remain at your disposal for any further assistance.

    Kind regards,

Likewise here. I like the colour of the track indicating the speed. But the arrows are terrible, and even more, the wide colored areas on each side of the colourd track!

It is an absolutely mess looking at a vessel doing port manouvre or other close sailing. Especially when zooming in..

This feature has not really been missed before, so cant understand the need for making it. At least you could make it possible for us to selective remove the arrows and wide colored markings.

    Dear all…

Also we, we find this new feature (partially) pointless.

The colour of the line showing the speed can be a good thing…

The new directive arrows are terrible and sure far too big

For the indications of the wind, we wonder what is the use

And..., the worst are the large colored areas surrounding the track, this is a real disaster !  !  !

Why other vessels disappear from the screen when we tack a vessel ?

If you do not intend to change quickly some to this new "tracking", could you please as soon as possible make it possible for us to remove selectively the arrows, wind indications and the wide coloured zones – thanks !

    And if you allow us….

Your collaborators would do a lot better to spend their "precious time" to found a system for the elimination of "fake" and "irregular" records in your database. Or maybe for your publicity the quantity “found 951110 records” on 20/02/2019  is more important than the quality

    Regards

    Marc

Hi, I think I was the iniator of this change.

I have followed a group af ships here for several years, and as the ships work closely in groups, and their courses often cross each other, it was very difficult to see the movement of the individual ship.

I then suggested that the colour of the past tracks of each ship were made different. They could for example have the same colours as you can a assign the ships in "My  fleet". Then you could easily switch the feature off, by giving the ships the same colour in "My fleet".

I don't know what happened, because now I can only track one ship at a time. The aim was only to colour the tracks differently.

    Hi Peter.

What you are suggesting of giving ship tracks a designated color to be able to sort them from each other sounds awesome!

As it is now the colors symbolize the speed. However, they could make it even better if we could choose between 1) having the color of the track defined by the speed, or 2) being able to choose a custom color for each ship or fleet.

No matter what, the wide colored areas on each side of the track, still need to go..! :)

    Kind regards

    Simon
