    Thank you for contacting MarineTraffic and bringing this up.

    I can understand your concern, but I would like to inform you that our Nautical Charts provider,Transas,
    is responsible for updating the nautical maps, shown on our Live Map.

    These updates are usually take place every six months. 

    However, I would like to suggest you contacting Transas here:
    https://www.transas.com/contacts
    and report your concerns, so as for you to better monitor the progress of your request.

    I hope they will be updated as soon as possible.

    Thank you for your swift reply.

     

    However, it can never be my responsibility as a user/costumer, to contact Transas on your (Marinetraffic) behalf.

    Marinetraffic is selling a service, where users are able to have the Nautical Charts as a background layer. This means, that its defiantly also Marinetraffics responsibility to make sure that they receive updates to these charts according to your contract with Transas.

     

    If you say that the updates are to take place every six months. Then I would strongly recommend you to forward this issue to your legal department, for them to address this contractual breach towards Transas.

     

    However, if you are serious about me contacting Transas on the behalf of Marinetraffic, I will be happy to do so.

    Kindly inform to whom I can forward my invoice for this service.

    I am really sorry to hear that my reply was understood.

    It was not my intention to ask you contact Transas on Marinetraffic behalf.
    This definitely is not your responsibility, as a user, since we constantly contact Transas, as they are our Nautical Charts provider.

    Further to that, what I was meaning was to contact them, providing your concerns, so as for you to better monitor your request.

    However, could you please be kind enough as to provide me with more precise information regarding the inconsistencies you have noticed in our Nautical Map, so as for me to further review the case?

    Hello,

    I have the same problem with missing updates for the nautical charts in germany, north sea, east frisian coast and islands. Is it possible to see the charts date?

    Thank you for contacting us.

    Please note that, as mentioned above, the company that provides us with the Nautical Charts is Transas.
    At this moment we do not have an estimate on when updates or changes may occur. 
    We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. We are unable to amend this as it is not in our hands
    but rather it depends on our third party provider.

    Hi Marinetraffic,

    Several years has passed by since i rasied the issue with Nautical Charts not being updated regularily.
    This seems still to be an issue, and hence you FleetMon and Marinetraffic have joined together under kpler, i'm eager to hear what has been done since our last contact to provide better and more updated charts to your users.

    I still see a great amount of issues in Danish and European waters in regards to charts and port areas not being updated.

    I would like to note that the Nautical Charts provider has been changed and currently it is C-maps. 

    C-Map has established their own data feed from various national Hydrographic Organizations. That is one of the reasons why it is mentioned that MarineTraffic Nautical Charts: "Attention: This service is NOT to be used for navigation" https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/online-services/plans/nautical-charts

    However, rest assured that your feedback has been forwarded to the dedicated team for further review.

    Hi,

    Rest assured, i'm absolutely NOT going to use the nautical charts for navigation.. ;-)
    But i'm just furious as to why the Nautical chart is not updated, and would like to know at what frequency you recieve updated nautical charts from C-map.
