    Hello David,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.

I assume you are referring to the vessel below, please correct me if I am wrong:

    https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:189944/mmsi:235023478/vessel:MINX

Regarding your first question, I would like to clarify that there is a variety of potential causes for the lack of updated positions of a vessel. Signal strength, functional transponder, local (vessel area) and surrounding (nearby stations) weather conditions, temperatures, traffic and the satellite constellation frequency are some of the most important ones. You can learn more about them here: https://help.marinetraffic.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990958-Why-cannot-I-see-a-vessel-on-the-Live-Map

Would you be kind enough to let me know where you arrived on 01/06 at 14.00 (local time)? This information will help me look further into why the most updated position of MINX we received was on 01/06 at 12:05 UTC.

With regards to your second question, let me explain that MarineTraffic is a global ship tracking intelligence that relies on AIS-transmitted data. Most of the information available in our platform is firstly transmitted from vessels transponders, collected through our network of coastal Stations and through satellite constellation, then automatically updated in our system. This is also the case for the Destination field, meaning that in order to the Destination of MINX to be displayed in our website and app, this information needs to be entered in her AIS transponder. As soon as we collect a few signals from her with the new data, this information will also be updated in MarineTraffic.

As for your third question, could you share a few more details about what you mean by "disappear", and also provide me with an example (Name and MMSI), please? I will be more than glad to investigate this further for you.

I look forward to your reply.

    Thank you in advance.
