I’m having the same problem: MMSI 250006475.

Boat is visible on chart, and recent track is recorded, but “Ship Not Found” message when I click on it, and it does not appear when searching for the boat name

    Hello Mister Knister!

Thank you for contacting MarineTraffic. My name is Vlada and I would be happy to assist you!

I have searched for the vessel you are referring to and was unable to reproduce the issue. Please feel free to send me any screenshots showing the issue, in the case that it still persists.

Andrew and Wijnand, I apologize for the delay. I could not reproduce the issue using the MMSI numbers of both the vessels you have indicated, therefore if this issue still occurs, please provide screenshots so I can look into this further.

For any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,

    Hello Svein,

Thank you for your post and providing the MMSI.

From what I understand, you are do not see the vessel information on our website for the vessel UMIAQ.

Upon checking the last position report from the vessel UMIAQ has been received on 2023-04-23 11:01 LT (UTC +1) 18 hours, 27 minutes ago at NORDIC - Skagerrak at position 59.76348° / 10.50093° tracked via Terrestrial AIS source.

Allow me to mention that the lack of Updated Positions of a vessel can be a result of a number of factors. Signal strength, functional transponder, local (vessel area) and surrounding (nearby stations) weather conditions, temperatures, traffic, and the satellite constellation frequency are some of the most important ones.

Further to that, allow me to inform you that in case the vessel is sailing far from our terrestrial stations, she can only be tracked via satellite, which may be less effective if the subject vessel is equipped with a Class B AIS transponder, such as UMIAQ.
Such units are smaller, simpler and lower cost compared to Class A transponders but their signal is weaker making it harder for satellites to pick-up AIS messages coming from them.

You can learn more about them here:
Why cannot I see a vessel on the Live Map?

    I hope the above helps.
Please let me know if you need further information.

    Kind regards,

    Hello,

I can see that there is no record in MarineTraffic under MMSI: 261005901.

Is there an AIS Transponder installed on your vessel? If so, you will have to update these details (MMSI, Vessel name etc.) in it. Then keep your Transponder active, so as for it to be transmitting your signal. Our system will automatically create a record for your vessel as soon as our antennas collect a few signals from her Transponder.

Additionally, kindly note that the vessel needs to be located in an area under our Terrestrial AIS coverage. You can check our coverage with these instructions:
    https://help.marinetraffic.com/hc/en-us/articles/205283547-Display-AIS-receiving-Stations-on-the-Live-Map

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
I will be happy to assist.

    At your disposal,

I can see the vessel on the map, I can see it’s track. On VesselFinder I can find it. But when I try to enter the ships „profile” it says ship n out found here on MT. The details were updated lately.
